Congratulations to Mitchell Thompson on being named the inaugural recipient of the Dick Thornburgh Public Interest Fellowship at K&L Gates — a well-deserved honor. Mitchell currently serves as Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia. Mitchell received his Juris Doctor degree at American University Washington College of Law.
Mitchell and Amy Groff, K&L Gates Partner and Vice Chair of the Firmwide Pro Bono Committee, recently visited Pittsburgh and toured the Dick Thornburgh Room located on the first floor of the University of Pittsburgh's Hillman Library. They also met with Mrs. Ginny Thornburgh to learn more about Governor Thornburgh’s life and his career-long commitment to public service.

This one-year, full-time fellowship honors Dick Thornburgh’s legacy of public service and commitment to justice – and advances our firm’s longstanding dedication to pro bono work. The Fellow, based in the US, will play a key role in our firmwide pro bono efforts and initiatives that have a meaningful impact in our communities.
